RACING CALENDAR 2002
There are numerous race events which take place throughout the year in the UK, the following list covers all known
scooter sprinting and racing events for 2002.
UK SCOOTER RACING:

BSSO (British Scooter Sport Organisation)
SCOOTER SERIES 2002
(Joint main sponsors: Scootering / Malossi)
DETAILS: Race your scooter (sidecar or solo), classic or automatic, groups
for all scooters. Attractions include: Trophies, Prizes, ACU Awards -
Award for best club person (sponsored by Jahspeed Racing) / Award for best
young rider (sponsored by VE UK). Top circuits, excellent racing, friendly
atmosphere.

- 50cc RACING
DETAILS: Dedicated automatic scooter racing. £160 will pre-book a team of
six for atleast two full days of racing. Campsite and full facilities
inclusive (4 riders, 16 years and over. 2 support staff sharing costs - 1
bike and bits). No licence required. Pay on the day £190. Less than £14 a
day each.
RACING CLASSES:
Class 1 - 50cc Specials.
Class 2 - 50cc Supersports.
Class 3 - 50cc 2 Stroke Sports.
Class 4 - 80cc 4 Stroke & 50cc Twist & Go.
Class 5 - 10cc 2 Stroke & 125cc 4 Stroke Sidecar.

UK SCOOTER SPRINTING:
- SANTA POD HIJACK 2002
DETAILS: scooter-only day at the renowned Santa Pod drag strip. Street-legal
and sprinters, classic and automatic classes. Attractions include: Trophies
(sponsored by PM Tuning), scooter dealers, full amenities, friendly atmosphere.
Coverage in Scootering / Twist & Go magazines. If you only go to
one sprint event in 2002, don't miss out on this one!

- NSA (NATIONAL SPRINT ASSOCIATION)
DETAILS: standing start quarter-mile action for bikes of all types and riders of all ages.
The easiest way to become involved in sprinting is just to come along and see what it's all about. Day entries
are welcome at most events, so if you want to have a go arrive early with an ACU-approved gold-standard helmet,
decent leathers, a safe machine to ride and ask where to sign on.

- STRAIGHTLINERS
DETAILS: Straightlining is about rubber burning,
adrenalin pumping 1/4 mile motorcycle racing! Just you, your machine and your reactions against your opponents over 1/4
of a mile. Anyone can do it. Any type of motorcycle can enter. YOU can do it. Trophies are given on the
day for the fastest performances in each class and various other speed related actions through the day. Take as many runs
up the drag strip as you want, all day! Each round is covered in Streetfighters magazine.
