We want 2003 to be the biggest and best year yet for the UK scooter drag racing scene, so
during the 2003 season X-RACE, Italjet Dragster.com along with
Team 100-mph Lambretta and the NSA (National Sprinting Association)
are willing to run a dedicated scooter sprinting championship. This will be the first organised drag racing
championship for automatic scooters in the UK.
BUT... it all depends on how many people are willing to take part...
Ideally we want to get as many of you people with automatic scoots just having a go, tuned or un-tuned it doesn't matter,
the important thing is just being there and having a go. Here are the basic details of the championship:
- The championship will be run over five rounds.
- The championship is open to classic scooters and automatics.
- There will be three classes:
- Racing
- Road Legal
- Automatic
- You will have to be a member of the NSA (£15 per year).
- Cost per meeting will be £25 entry fee and £5 ACU day licence.
- Anyone will be able to join in on the day but the times for day entries will NOT be entered into the championship unless you pre-enter.
- You don't even need a driving licence!
- Trophies will be awarded to the winners and we are sure the relevant
scooter magazines will cover the progress of the championship throughout the course of the year.
SO... what are you waiting for? Let's see all you people with tuned Dragsters on the drag strip (if you think yer 'ard enough)!
Get your friends to come along and spectate too! If you've never been to a drag racing event before why not come along and
check out the scene?
Since the competition will be governed by the ACU (Auto Cycle Union) there are a few
rules to adhere to, but if you're interested in some real sprinting then this
is the perfect opportunity to get started.

1. You will require one or two-piece leathers.
2. Leather gloves and protective boots.
3. An open or full-face helmet displaying ACU gold sticker.
