SEPTEMBER 2001

24/09/01 : The NSA Sprint at Santa Pod took place yesterday, those of you who said were going, where were you??? You missed out on a day's racing if a bit on the cold side...

Anyway, here's a scoop - we have for your perusal, pictures of Italjet's new Amarcord and Scooop as unveiled at the EICMA exhibition in Milan, cheers to Ivan at Extreme Sports Russia for sending us the pics. As for the 500cc Marcopolo - the project has been put on hold for now (but not cancelled). Italjet aren't sure that they'll be able to sell enough to cover production costs.

More news, Bitubo I am told are soon to release a rear shock for the Dragster 125/180. Bitubo have already listed in their 2002 catalog a front shock. The Dragster 50 is not forgotten too, shocks for it have been available for some time now and the front Bitubo shock which fits the Dragster 50 has already been seen on a few 180's.

Ian at Jasscooters informs me that they now have some clear rear brake lenses for the Dragster, price £15.00 and this includes a red bulb. Get a move on if you want one though, as they are going quick by all accounts.

20/09/01 : Alrightey then, who's off to Santa Pod this Sunday? Anyone who is going drop us an email and I'll see you there, the more people with automatic scoots the better. If you've not already filled out an application form for the NSA Sprint, it doesn't matter cos' you can enter on the day. For full details about the event click on the link above.

19/09/01 : Following the release of the Jet-Set, Italjet's new commuter scoot, Italjet have just announced news of a radical new motorbike range which includes a Cross, Supermotard, Quad and the retro-styled Amarcord, a 150cc automatic motorbike. What we're still waiting for though are the first pictures of Italjet's futuristic new maxi-scooter the Marcopolo 500...

18/09/01 : Good news! ItaljetDragster.com hits the Top 5 in the 'Top 100 Scooter Sites'! Click on the link below to check out the Top 100 (if you've not already done so) and help us get to No.1.

Bad news, the message board... A number of you have been emailing about this, we believe the current free version of UBB has actually expired. As I have said before the ideal situation would be to upgrade to a fully-licenced version which would be fully supported should any problems occur. However, this costs money (a few hundred pounds) and since I don't make any money from doing this site this is not going to happen. The main reason for choosing a paid version is to get full customer support should any problems occur. This then is a final plea for donations towards funding a new message board, also if any interested parties would like to sponsor ItaljetDragster.com, please contact me.

14/09/01 : The customary 'Top 100 Scooter Sites' link has now made it's way onto the site, ideally we want everyone to click on the link below, so feel free to vote for your favourite site!

13/09/01 : Some drag racing pictures I took at Elvington earlier this year have been added to the Gallery. Check 'em out. Shots from Mayhem Day at York Dragway to follow...

10/09/01 : Tunescoot.de have some of those clear brake-light lenses in stock and some carbon-look ones. The lens is not listed as an Italjet part so look under their Yamaha Aerox page, the Aerox shares the same lens as the Dragster.

07/09/01 : Tring Security Products have come up with an alternative security device to the usual lock and chain called the 'Stand-Secure Lock'. The device is permanently fitted to your scoot and locks the centre stand when in the down position. The device will fit the Gilera Runner with no modifications, fitting one to a Dragster would require a few adjustments however. Maybe worth a look though, check out the Stand Secure website.

05/09/01 : The NSA Sprint is getting closer and if you're going to Santa Pod on the 23rd, the application forms are being sent out this week according to Eden at 100-mph-Lambretta.com. If you've not yet asked for one then please email 100-mph, the forms are late going out and need to be returned at least a week before the event - so get yer skates on! Also there's one more thing scrutineering will look for and that's a self-returning throttle, you have been warned.

Dragster Gallery Collection 9 has been added with a few pics of Joe Elliot, (winner of the last sprint) who you will again have the chance to see or race against on the 23rd.
