20/10/03 :
A BIG thanks to everyone who participated in the X-Race UK Championship this year. A big thanks to
the venerable Paul Melici at PM Tuning for supplying the trophies. Thanks to Trevor at Straightliners for welcoming the scooters.
Also big thanks to my missus for her patience and putting up with my antics once again.
Next year, X-Race is gonna be bigger and better, there is rumour of a cash prize for the winners and some real good trophies
from Straightliners at the end of the championship. There will be 12 rounds. The championship side of it all has yet
to be finalised. Though there will be a series of 'Eliminations' rounds at each event with a trophy at the end for the winner.
I'm looking into building up the stuntin' side of things, but we need more people getting involved. An X-Race stunt team
is being introduced next year with Rich Haywood performing in front of the crowds at Manchester G-Mex in January. Tom Wright
(aka The Full SP) will also be joining the stunt team next year. With regards sponsorship, I am currently looking into getting
Red Bull to sponsor X-Race and the stunt team. If anyone else out there would like to sponsor X-Race,
then please get in touch.
Some new records were set on Sunday at Santa Pod, all the results and a full report to follow...
Once again, a big THANKYOU to everyone who has supported X-Race this year.
17/10/03 :
This Sunday as many of you are no doubt aware is the final round (Round 7) of this year's X-Race UK Championship. The points
will be added up and trophies (courtesy of PM Tuning Racing Products)
will be awarded to the winners. Trophies are being awarded to those who have entered five rounds of the competition, if you have only
entered one or two rounds then you will not be eligible to win a trophy. Racing usually begins at around 10am, get there early to sign-on.
Don't forget to bring your driving licence and leathers (one or two piece) are advised for your protection along with a good quality
crash hat, gloves and boots with ankle protection. The weather reports are so far looking good for the weekend so fingers crossed. It would
help a great deal if anyone racing could give me their best times from the day (1/4 and 1/8 mile) by 3 o'clock in the afternoon, so please
don't leave without giving me your times. Racing doesn't end at 3, usually continues until around 5pm. The event along with the results
from the year will of course be covered in Twist & Go magazine of course. If you don't
intend to race on Sunday, then why not come along and watch? It's a good day out and a good way to put names to faces. See you there.
13/10/03 :
Issue 21 of Twist & Go should be available in all good newsagents now. In this issue you will find part one of
my Extreme Scootering series following the antics of Rich Haywood and pals during the making of an up-and-coming scooter
stuntin' video. Also in this issue you will find my write-up on Kevin Jones's Runner 'Red Heat', all the latest news
from Milan, Iggy's road test of the Peugeot Elystar, Marilyn Parker's sprinter and much more, get your copy now.

Yesterday's stuntin' at Elvington didn't go quite as planned, despite the overall turn-out being good, the competition in the stuntin'
competition was sadly lacking (to say the least). So it was quite literally "in the bag" for Rich Haywood who as a result of his performance
will be now be making his first stuntin' appearence at the Streetfighters show at Manchester G-Mex in January, dates for this event to be confirmed.
For more info on yesterday at Elvington, read my post on the Message Board.
10/10/03 :
A final reminder that the X-Race UK X-Treme Stuntin' Challenge 2003 takes place this Sunday at Elvington, North Yorkshire.
The stuntin' competition is being conducted at a Straightliners drag race meeting, so if you come along you can participate
in some drag racing at the same time if you bring your scoot with you. Entry fee to the venue for spectators and racers alike
is a mere £5 per person. If you wanna do some drag racing, £30 is payable when you sign-on to race.
The stuntin' competition itself is open to anyone with a scooter, judging will take place at around lunch time. A trophy supplied
by PM Tuning Racing Products will be awarded to the winner at the final round of the X-Race UK Championship at Santa Pod on 19th October.
Straightliners are kindly throwing in a few prizes too. The judging itself will be conducted by Trevor Duckworth and the staff at
Straightliners. Furthermore if anyone is seen as being particularly talented then there is a chance that you will be asked by Trevor to perform
at big shows such as the annual Streetfighters shows at Sheffield Arena and Manchester G-Mex. So this could be your lucky break into the world
of high-profile stuntin'. So if you think you can make the grade, you won't wanna miss out. Either way come along and see what it's all about.
Be there or be square!
07/10/03 :
The Message Board went down for a short while last night
for maintenance and has now been upgraded to the latest version of Infopop's UBB Classic. New features include
a Poll facility, Avatars and a Directory feature for searching for members details.
Christmas will be here before we know it, even the adverts have started appearing on TV and it's not even bonfire night yet... Settling for a venue for
the X-Race / ItaljetDragster.com X-Mas Bash has not been easy, so I've put the newly introduced poll feature on the message board to good use. So to
get some feedback on where people would ideally like to meet up for this Chrimbo get together, please place your vote
here on the message board, thanks.
02/10/03 :
The Sept/Oct issue of Italian Bike magazine features an article on the founder of Italjet -
Mr. Leopoldo Tartarini himself. If it wasn't for this man, there wouldn't be the Dragster... Might be worth a read for those of you who are interested. A portion of the article can be read on-line
here.
