NOVEMBER 2002

26/11/02 : If you're looking for engine parts or replacement body panels Italjet head office in Sheffield have a whole host of Dragster and Formula components available at reasonable prices. The direct number to call is 0114 2500550.

UPDATE: Finally on-line: Aprilia SR Gallery 2.

25/11/02 : The International Motorcycle & Scooter Show at Birmingham's NEC came to a close yesterday. Italjet's offering this year included the 'Jack' (foldable three-wheeler) the Dragster Monster Mob Replica and an update of the classic Formula 50 called the 'Formula GP'. The body styling of the Formula has been re-vamped and now looks longer and sleaker, quite impressive (even if it does resemble Benelli 491 styling)... Little is known about this new model since Italjet UK only received the prototype a few weeks before the show but I'm told we can expect to see them on the roads in 2004.

Peugeot's 'Jet Force Compressor' prototype was perhaps the most intriguing bike on display at the show. A bigger capacity engine is in order though I think which I believe Peugeot are looking into since a 125cc engine may put off a few full bike licence holders along with the hefty £3,500+ price tag. The detailing of this machine though I have to say was impressive although I wasn't as knocked out by the styling compared to when I first set eyes upon the Dragster. Nevertheless the Jet Force has numerous innovative features - the chassis which Peugeot call the 'Direct Perimetric Frame', a central fuel tank, central shock absorber not to mention the supercharged four-stroke engine itself. The Jet Force Compressor is expected to be available by Autumn next year.

Another bike which has caught my eye recently is the CPI GTR, a kind of Dragster / DNA hybrid, quite cool actually. If you went to the NEC this year you may have spotted CPI's 'Hussar' on view at Italjet's stand. In actual fact Italjet UK are now also the UK importer for CPI which some of you may already be aware of. Although the GTR was not on display this year it's currently undergoing testing and should be available in 2003.

The rest of the show provided pretty much more of the same as last year - the usual deals on clothing and accessories but not that many new models on show this time round (and I don't just mean the 'babes' either).

20/11/02 : The last X-RACE meeting of the year went swimmingly at Elvington (well almost if it had rained anymore). A report and pictures from the day to follow...

Andy Pearson at PSN Scooters has this rather humorous reg. no to sell which is bound to amuse friends and foe (i.e. the cops but who cares about that). And who knows you may even pull a few laydeez with it??? So the registration 'YE5 2 FKU' is up for auction and bidding starts at £300. If you would like to place a bid contact Andy at PSN via email or phone Andy on 01924 445449. There's a catch though, the reg. no will only be sold to someone who is purchasing a brand new Dragster in the UK from an authorised dealer.

15/11/02 : Streamline your Dragster... Nyle at ScooterClothing.com in the US has come up with this alternative licence plate holder solution. By all accounts the plate holder allows you to attach your indicators to it too. It bolts on under the seat where the two 6mm holes are on the frame. The plate holder is also light in weight at about 20 grammes. At the moment I'm still waiting on news from Nyle with regards availability/price etc.

14/11/02 : Bitubo shocks now available at JASScooters, supplies are limited at the moment so get 'em while you can. Available are rear gas shocks for D125/180's with micro pre-load adjustment (price £126.73) or with a remote adjustable reservoir which offers pre-load and rebound adjusment (price £174.14). Complete your suspension set-up with a Bitubo front gas shock with micro pre-load adjustment for D125/180's (price £86.61).

11/11/02 : LAST X-RACE OF THE YEAR! Just a reminder folks that the last X-RACE sprinting meet of the year is this Sunday November 17th at Elvington. It's a Straightliners RWYB public track day which means there'll be an abundance of motorcycles there too. Cost will be about £30 to enter for as many runs as you like up the strip. If you've never been to Elvington before you need to head for York. From the south you need to get on the M1 northbound, come off the M1 onto the A1, come off the A1 onto the A64, then come off the A64 onto the B1228. Elvington airfield is then situated on the right about 1 mile down the B1228 and Straightliners events are usually sign-posted. Don't forget to bring your Driving Licence and let's hope the weather's good. See you there!

06/11/02 : JASScooters now have for sale some of those cool F1 carbon-effect mirrors all the way from Italy. £27.98 for a set and that includes adaptors. Also in stock are some carbon-effect brake levers priced £16.99. Keep an eye on JASScooters website for their own range of up-and-coming carbon fibre parts.

04/11/02 : Tyrefly's seem to be a topic of interest at the moment particularly on these dark nights. The little gizmo's you see here will fit your car, motorcycle, mountain bike or BMX valve stem without any special tooling. Each pack of 'Pro Tireflys' comes complete with two Tireflys, a set of alkaline batteries and a spare set is included on the blister pack. One set of batteries gives up to 200 hours of flashing light when in motion. Patented motion sensors activate the hyper bright LED's and the units turn off after 12 seconds when stationary to save power. Available in blue, purple, red, green, white and tri-colour. Designed for Schraeder type valve threads. Look cool to me. For more info check out the official UK website.
