At last! Some news on the X-Race Awards Bash (and it beats standing outside in the cold like last year)...
The X-Race UK Championship 2004 awards / prize-giving (and general booze-up) will this year be at the Renaissance Hotel, South Normanton, Derbyshire
(about 14 miles from Derby).
The date for this event will be: Sunday 22nd January 2005 - yep, that's next year. The venue itself is also home to the annual BSSO
AGM + Dinner Dance, so if you go decide to join us then you'll also be able to chat to some of the riders who participate in the BSSO UK scooter
road race championship (as well as fellow X-Racers). I have been to one of these events before, and the Renaissance Hotel is very nice (it's part of the Marriott chain of hotels), the bar stays open late and I can guarantee you will
get quite merry...
Since the venue is organised by the BSSO in the first place, all they ask for people who are not attending the dinner, but attending the party is £7.50 per person. This includes
the awards and the "disco" afterwards, (dancing is not compulsory) although most people stand around chatting (and boozing)...
It would be nice to get some of you X-Racers along to the dinner though. The cost if you want to attend the Dinner / Dance is £25 per ticket (as
opposed to £7.50), and this includes a three course meal, plus DJ etc. Hotel rooms are £30 per head and that includes full English breakfast along with
full facilities of the hotel: swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and fitness centre should you wish to use them. This price is for
a double room (two persons sharing). There is also a single room supplement charged. The BSSO will set aside the required number
of tables to cater for the X-racers who will be attending.
For details on the venue and location, take a look here.
If you have any questions or queries or would like to book tickets for the event then please contact me and I will pass on your
details (I need to pass on your postal address), later you will be requested for payment and that should be made payable to the "BSSO".

If you're not a subscriber of the magazine already, can I urge you to become a subscriber. Not only is this a benefit to you in that you get
the magazine delivered to your door, but there is a problem at the moment - not just with T&G, but with all mags distributed through
newsagents. WHSmiths are 'restructuring' and have issued a message to all major publishers stating that they are going to withdraw
a lot of titles from the shelves of certain newsagents. It affects all titles differently, but as far as T&G is concerned it means
that they might cut the number of places it is sold by around 300 outlets. Consequently this will put an awful financial strain on publishers
as there will be lost sales and make the magazine harder to find for the consumer. So if you're not a subscriber already, please support Twist & Go and become a subscriber.
