DECEMBER 2001

21/12/01 : Jonas Erasmie sent in a step by step guide to the successful fitting of one of the new Arrow 180cc pipe's. As you will see from the guide, the pipe poses a few problems when fitting to a Dragster, namely re-routing of the coolant hoses...

19/12/01 : Keep your hands warm this winter with some heated grips. JASScooters have some of the popular Oxford removable heated grips on offer, priced at £49.95 the grips simply wrap around the standard rubber grips using Velcro, so come the warmer weather they should be easy to remove. By all accounts the grips heat up in only a few minutes and draw very little from the battery making them suitable for scooters.

18/12/01 : Looking for an alternative oil for your Dragster? How about Rock Oil's new range of lubricants? I've not tried any of their fully-synthetic oil as yet, but if their reputation is anything to go by, might be worth a look in... Check out their website for more info.

PM Tuning have some MVT universal digital rev counters in. Priced at £99.99 + VAT the gizmo also has an engine temperature guage and is self-powered by a ni-cad battery (supplied).

17/12/01 : Twenty first century scooters... those of you who have already bought a copy of the latest Twist & Go (issue no. 9) will have seen my article on custom Dragsters which showcases a few owners scoots from around the world; Ivan Illesh (Russia), Mattias Fogelqvist (Sweden), Tim Keiller (Australia), Mark Tricker aka 'Freestyler' (UK) and you'll find some pictures of my own scoot in there too. So if you've not managed to get a copy of the mag yet then I suggest you do so now! Pronto!

11/12/01 : Italjet Dragster.com celebrates its first birthday today! First year on-line! The last year has gone pretty quick though and the hits to the site have now risen to just over half a million per month... Thankyou everyone for your support and yeah I know, I still ain't sorted that message board out... But worry not, it will be back now I have sourced a sponsor.

10/12/01 : BIG update time... Dragster Gallery Collection 11 is now on-line along with two new collection's of Gilera Runner and Aprilia SR pictures. With both Runner 125/180's and the Aprilia SR 125 sharing the same Piaggio engine as the Dragster 125/180 it made sense to open up the site to all these owners. This makes the Gallery bigger than ever with more than 300 Dragster images alone! Thanks to everyone who sent in pictures.

More news on the Dragster Dark... there's a possibility that there will be a limited run of Dragster Dark 180cc from the factory in Italy. The bike itself will be mostly flat black but with logos in gloss black or carbon, there will be none of the fake carbon stuff as on the prototype, real carbon would be used along with matt black paint for other components. If it does go into production this special Dragster would be available to order by the earliest May 2002 but it would be shipped for early summer delivery...

06/12/01 : Following the large amount of interest that Italjet UK's custom 'Dragster Dark' attracted at the recent NEC show, Italjet UK are putting the bike up for auction, bidding starts at £2750. Check out the Italjet Performance Scooters website for more details. Auction ends December 15th so you better get your skates on...

Also on auction is the 'Jet Set Leopoldo', a one-off specially painted Jet Set which was also on show at the NEC... Italjet UK also have a batch of Velocifero's in stock if you're interested? Anyone who has been after one of those scooters will know that they have been hard to find since they have been out of production for quite some time now. Once again, check out Italjet UK's website for more details.
