12/08/02 : MORE X-RACING... As some of you now know X-RACE is all about rubber burning, adrenalin pumping 1/8 and 1/4 mile drag racing! Just you, your machine and your reactions against your opponents. Anyone with a scooter can join in. Any type of scooter can enter. Take as many runs up the drag strip as you want, all day! If you went to the SANTA POD HIJACK you won't want to miss out! X-RACE meetings for the rest of the year as follows:

On 08 SEP you can also try out sprinting with the NSA. For more info on the NSA check out the NSA website. You can get an NSA day pass on 08 SEP, but there are rules and regulations to adhere to (which includes things like full leathers, a helmet with an ACU gold sticker and proper boots) but you don't need a driving licence to race. It's not vital that you get an NSA day pass since you can also sign-on with Streetfighters/Straightliners which is like a normal RWYB.
 
To get to Elvington, the address is: Elvington Airfield, Halifax Way, Elvington. YO4 5AU. If you're coming up north you need to get onto the A64 to York then onto the B1228 when you come off the A64 (see map) stay on the B1228 until you see start to see the signs for Streetfighters/Straightliners and Elvington airfield is situated on the right-hand side (if you come off the A64 northbound). If you don't know how to get to Santa Pod, check out the Santa Pod website for directions. At the end of the sessions the three meetings will be covered in the relevant scooter magazines.
 
There are plans afoot for an X-RACE / NSA championship next year and the action will take place over 5 rounds. For details on joining the NSA read this which also gives details on the championship which will now take place in 2003.
 
In the meantime, if you want to participate in the above dates, don't forget to bring your driving licence to enter. And tell your mates to come too! See you there!

09/08/02 UPDATE: Well, the SANTA POD HIJACK was a big success, if you weren't there you missed out. The times from the day and pictures from the event are finally on-line! This stuff should've gone on-line on Monday but FTP problems caused the delay. Thanks to those of you who sent in more pictures, these will be put on-line at a later date.
