APRIL
2004
29/04/04 :
The results from the first round of this year's X-Race UK Championship are now on-line, so head on over to
the official X-Race UK website to check out all the times.
Not long to go now before the new episode of '2 Wheels' is broadcast, in which a film crew came along to interview members
of the Northern Scooter Club and follow 30 or so bikes on the ride-out through Derbyshire. By all accounts this particular episode
will be broadcast -four times- during the first week in May on the ubiquitous Granada Men & Motors channel. So for those of you
who haven't got Sky TV, get someone to record this for you!
15/04/04 :
Many of you will have noticed by now that the Message Board is
back up-and-running again. Yay! Which is good news for those of you suffering from withdrawal symptoms! There are still a few things to fix with
the board but if you do come across any problems, please let me know just in case.
It's that time of the month again, yep, the latest issue (no. 27) of Twist & Go magazine
is out and should be available in the shops now. In this month's issue you will find a profile on yours truly, which also features my very own Dragster
which was the reason for starting this 'ere website...
Phil 'Ventolin' Conquest did the write-up, cheers Phil! And thanks to Inne at Scooter Tuning.net
for taking the piccies. Elsewhere in this issue you will find my 2004 X-Race guide which just about
covers most of the details of this year's drag racing championship. Incidentally, the first round of the championship is not far away now on the 25th April at Elvington.
So, make sure you're there yeah?
In the rest of T&G then is the following:
Light It Up! (Neons & LEDs for your scoot • Phantom Max test • Tyre tests • Active Escapism (riding in South Africa • Scooters at Daytona (Paul Blez
goes to the states) • Wacky Races (BSSO Championship Info) • Jet Force maintenance • Piaggio to my Bubu (40 years of PGO) and more... Get your copy now!

05/04/04 :
More site problems (sigh)... I'll be just as glad to get the site back to normal as the rest of you who have
been wondering what to do with all your free time since the site has been down. As many of you know I had to transfer the
site to a new hosting company since the site was using too much bandwidth. Yes, the site is popular. But to cut a long story short
there have been numerous problems which would take me probably 10 minutes
to explain. One of the biggest problems was finding out that somehow the site had disappeared off the server for some, as yet, unexplained
reason. The second major problem was finding out that there would be no way of getting the message board to run with the new host.
At the moment, not all of the site has been re-uploaded. I did try to re-upload it for a second time and then 6 hours later it all
disappeared again. Consequently I am now looking for another company to host the site as I am extremely dis-satisfied with what
has happened. I can assure you though that the site will be back to normal eventually. Thanks for your patience.
Saturday's Northern Scooter Club meet was a successful one, as planned Men & Motors came to do some filming and a number of us were
interviewed for the future episode of '2 Wheels' showing on Granada's Men & Motors channel. By all accounts this episode will be broadcast
some time in May. I'll announce an exact date when I receive it. I'm currently doing a full report on the day's events for Twist & Go,
so keep your eyes peeled.
